Here is a statement from Produer Alex Kurtzman about the film titled "Rob Peace":
"Creating movies like this requires an outpouring of love and support from a community," emphasized producer Alex Kurtzman, who developed a close relationship with Ejiofor while working on the series adaptation of "The Man Who Fell to Earth.....We don't embark on projects like this for financial gain. We pursue these stories because they hold significant meaning. And somehow, we are fortunate enough to have the opportunity to tell them."
In portraying Rob Peace, Ejiofor and his casting director discovered Jay Will, a recent graduate from Juilliard.
Here is Ejiofor's statement on the actor that played Rob Peace:
"I never viewed this as a narrative about someone who can adapt to different roles...It's a tale about an individual who naturally and consistently embodies all of these facets simultaneously. You truly need to invest and believe in that authenticity. Jay effortlessly achieved that, as it resonated with his own life experiences. Additionally, he possesses exceptional acting abilities along with genuine charisma and charm."
Mary J. Blige joined the cast to portray Rob's mother, Jackie, while Camila Cabello takes on the role of Naya, his on-again, off-again girlfriend. Ejiofor cast himself as Skeet, the father figure.
