“I’m like, ‘Hey, I hold a record in something!’ So I’ll take it. It means I’ve been chosen 12 times by the greatest composers and songwriters in the world, which make up the music branch of the Academy. So I can’t complain about that. Someday maybe I’ll win, or I’ll keep going back. I’m happy to keep being invited to the party.”
Her latest lyrics for a film will be article-based film "Four Good Days" starring Glenn Close (who knows a thing or two about being nominated the most without a win) and Mila Kunis. Warren mentioned about Glenn Close's Oscar nominations with no win:
“She lost her eighth Oscar, I lost my 12th. So together we have 20 straight losses,” Warren laughs. “Glenn Close is always brilliant and I think she’ll be nominated for a ninth time,” she says. “And Mila is stunning; you don’t know that’s Mila Kunis, she’s amazing. I think they’ll both get nominated for Oscars for this.”
Warren's song ( Somehow You Do by Reba McEntyre) will be at the closing credit of the film. Here is her statement about the film in general:
“It’s a great movie, and it’s a harrowing movie. Ultimately it’s what’s going on in this country and it’s a true story. And what struck me was the hope in it. Because it does end hopefully, where a lot of cases, it doesn’t, sadly. But in my song I wanted to capture the hope and the resilience and the strength of the human spirit. That no matter what you’re going through, you can get through it. Some way, somehow, you do.”
