Based on a graphic novel published by Grevioux's Darkstorm Comics & Media, “Shurika” tells the story of a biracial Black Japanese woman. Raised by a ninja clan, she was kept hidden from her Yakuza grandfather by her mother. The grandfather had previously killed her African American husband due to their forbidden relationship. Years later, as she sets out to find her birth mother, she becomes entangled in a conflict between the ninja clan that raised her and the Japanese underworld.

Here is Grevioux's statement about the project:
“I've been eager to share this tale for quite some time. It’s not just a thrilling action-packed adventure, but it also explores the themes of family, relationships, and forgiveness in the face of tragedy.”
Producer Moshe Diamant, known films such as the book-based film “Memory,” featuring Liam Neeson and Guy Pearce, and Brian De Palma’s book-based film “The Black Dahlia,” is on board for “Shurika.”
