"I was unsuspectingly drawn into this," Scorsese admitted regarding the movie bracket TikTok, where he controversially chose "Birdman" over classics like "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly...It was a clever ploy. I had no idea that these things could go viral. They call it 'going viral.' I was unaware."

Scorsese also shared the process of creating TikTok videos with his daughter:
"When I'm at home engaged in various activities, my daughter approaches me and requests, 'Dad, look in this direction and say this.' So there I am, in my comfortable pajamas... Then she informs me, 'Well, it's something that everyone is doing.' I inquire, 'Who are 'they'?' To which she responds, 'Everybody's doing it. It's this phenomenon called TikTok.' 'Alright. Alright.' I mean, the one we made with the dog, that had become quite popular."
Reflecting on his most recent TikTok, he admitted to the L.A. Times:
"I didn't anticipate it being uploaded. We were simply filming it in another room. I have no idea what they will do with it. They always have those iPhones in their hands. You remain oblivious. Honestly, I had no clue that she would post it... They use the term 'post it,' correct?"
Scorsese also acknowledged great admiration for his daughter Francesca's artistic vision:
"I must acknowledge that my daughter possesses a keen eye."
