She has been in the film industry for 47 years and was the first South African member of AMPAS and the Television Academy. She also received Lionel Ngakane Award from the South African Film & Television Awards in 2017. Her production company's name is Moonyeenn Lee & Assoiciates (MLA). It specialize in South African films and produced the book-based film "Promised Land."
