During a conversation at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia, Smith spoke about the sequel and confirmed that his co-star, Michael B. Jordan from the movie "Creed," is still on board for the project. Jordan had signed on almost two years ago.
Here is a statement from Will Smith about the sequel:
"I have a call with Michael B. Jordan tomorrow. The script just arrived...I might be revealing too much information."
Will Smith also revealed that although his character, Robert Neville, dies at the end of the first film, an alternative ending was included in the DVD extras where the character survives. The sequel will follow the mythology established in that version, according to Smith.
He said, "We're going with the mythology of the DVD version where my character lived. I can't reveal more, but Michael B. Jordan is involved, and we're making it happen."
