Here is a statement from Focus Features Distribution head, Lisa Bunnell:
"Come Play became an alternative on Halloween. We're thrilled that audiences came out to celebrate Halloween making Come Play the #1 movie this weekend. We had a great partnership with our friends at Amblin to bring Jacob Chase's new vision of horror to the screen."
Here is a statement from Jacob Chase himself about the box office result:
"Having my first studio movie be released to this wide audience is a really special experience. Moviegoers all across the country have had a chance to see this film that I, along with the entire cast and crew, put so much heart and empathy into. While it isn't exactly how we pictured the movie coming out when we made it, I've been remarkably impressed with Focus getting it into so many theaters surely during COVLD. Wear your masks and keep your fellow humans safe!"
The movie's Data and Marketing Association( DMA) reported that the top market were Dallas (4.1%), New York (3.8 %). Chicago (3.2%). Houston (2.9%), Los Angeles/ Orange (2.7%), Philly (2.5%). San Fran (2.4%), Detroit (2.2%). Atlanta (2.0%). and Salt Lake City (1.8%).
