Book-based Film “Reminders of Him,” the film adaptation of the novel by “It Ends with Us” and “Regretting You” author Colleen Hoover, is projected to land in second place at the box office this weekend, exceeding expectations with an opening of $19–20 million.
The movie stars Maika Monroe (“Longlegs”) and Tyriq Withers (“Him”) and has received mixed critical responses, currently holding a 56% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Audience reactions haven’t been much stronger either, with the film earning a ‘B’ CinemaScore.
Despite the lukewarm reception, the film’s debut is outperforming forecasts and drawing a huge female audience, who make up 81% of ticket buyers.
Meanwhile, Pixar’s “Hoppers” is holding onto the top spot, with the film projected to earn about $30 million in its second weekend — representing a modest 34% drop from its opening last week.
“Scream 7” is set to take fourth place with around $7.5 million in its third weekend, marking a drop of about 56%. Rounding out the top five is “Goat,” which is expected to bring in approximately $5 million.
