McKenzie and Smit-McPhee join the cast in Netflix's The Power of the Dog

Thomasin Mckenzie who was in Jojo Rabbit and Kobi Smit-McPhee from x-men: Dark Phoenix has joined the cast in The Power of the Dog that include Benedict Cumberbatch, Frances Conroy, Kirsten Dunst, and her husband Jesse Plemons.

The screenwriter will be Jane Campion who is known for writing Top of the Lake and The Piano. Thomas Savage is the author of the book. You can get a copy of Thomas Savage's The Power of the Dog Today!

The President is Missing has found its lead

David Oyelowo (A Wrinkle in Time, Don't Let Go, Chaos Walking) is playing the lead in the film adaptation of James Patterson's novel The President is Missing. Former President Bill Clinton co-wrote the novel as well. Showtime will air the series. Mr. Anthony Peckham wrote the screenplay. Mr. David Oyelowo, Leopoldo Gout, Bill Robinson, James Patterson, Bill Clinton, and Anthony Peckham will executive produce it. Ms. Heather McQuarrie and Mr. Christopher McQuarrie are co-executive for the project.

“David brings such enormous depth, sensitivity, and power to every role he plays,” said Gary Levine, President of Entertainment at Showtime Networks Inc. “Having him as our lead ensures that our series will have the exhilarating suspense of a political thriller along with the juicy complexity of a character drama.”

Amanda Seyfried takes the lead in Netflix's All Things Heard & Seen

Negotiations are currently going on in regard to Ms. Amanda Seyfried taking the lead in All Things Heard & Seen. Directing the project are Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini (American Splendor). They will also adapt the screenplay. Peter Cron, Stefanie Azpiazu, and Anthony Bregman are producing it along with Ms. Julie Cohen. Hudson Valley, New York is where the production would take place. It starts in October 2019.

David Oyelowo cast in the film adaptation of Good Morning, Midnight

Mr. David Oyelowo will join the cast that consist of Mr. Kyle Chandler and Ms. Felicity Jones. Mr. George Clooney will star, direct and produce the Netflix project. Mr. Mark L. Smith will adapt the screenplay. The film production will begin in October.

Oyelowo's upcoming films are Come Away, a fantasy movie with Angelina Jolie and a Peter Rabbit sequel.

David Oyelowo also produces and stars in a science-fiction film titled Don't Let Go that comes out on Aug. 30, 2019 which is nine days from now to be exact. I'll also post a blog interview with the director and screenwriter of Don't Let Go, Mr. Jacob Aaron Estes, on that day as well. Awkwafina takes the lead in The Last Adventure of Constance

Ms. Awkwafina (Crazy Rich Asian, The Farewell) gets the lead in the film adaptation of Mr. A. Lee Martinez's novel The Last Adventure of Constance Vertisty.

Legendary Entertainment won the rights to adapt to the novel. Mr. John Raffo will write the script for the movie. Mr. Jay Ashenfelter and Jon Shestack along with Jon Silk will oversee the film. Awkwafina will be a producer as well.

Reese Witherspoon stars in the film adaptation of the short story 'Tardy Man.'

Ms. Reese Witherspoon snags the lead to the film adaptation of Mr. Thomas Pierce short story titled Tardy Man. She is also producing the feature along with Mr. Simon Kinberg. The author himself will write the script. Tardy Man was in 2018's publication of The New Yorker. Another short story by Mr. Thomas Pierce, titled Chairman Spaceman, has been optioned by Fox Searchlight with Mr. Kinberg also producing that project.

The movie will be called Pyros rather than the short story title Tardy Man.

Here is the synopsis from Deadline.com:

Tardy Man deals with a group of augmented people who are fitted with indestructible fire suits that are fused to their spines. They work for a corporation that recovers objects for wealthy people when their houses are burning. It is strictly forbidden for them to veer from their salvage missions, even when other humans are in danger. The protagonist decides to make an exception to this rule and that is the jumping off point.

Millie Bobby Brown stars in the film adaptation of Enola Holmes

Millie Bobby Brown will take the lead role, Enola, in the film adaptation to Enola Holmes. The movie is based on Enola Holmes Mysteries book series which were written by Ms. Nancy Springer. The first book, The Case of the Missing Marquess, was published in 2006.

Mr. Harry Bradbeer is directing the project while Mr. Jack Thorne will write the screenplay. Legendary is producing the feature along with PCMA productions shingle. Ali Mendes and Alex Garcia will manage the project.

As for the casts, Ms. Helena Bonham Carter will play Enola's mother, while Mr. Henry Cavill will play Sherlock Holmes.

Aldis Hodge is cast in The Invisible Man

Mr. Aldis Hodge ( What Men Want, Hidden Figures) has added as a cast member of The Invisible Man. He is now among such members as Storm Reid( Trinkets, A Wrinkle in Time), Elisabeth Moss (Us, The Old Man & The Gun). Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions is producing the project. Co-production of The Invisible man are Goalpost Pictures Australia and Nervous Tick. Production begans in july 2019 for a release date of March 13, 2020. Mr. Whannell is writing the screenplay and directing the project. He is also the executive producer.

The Invisible Man movie is based on a science fiction novel written by Mr. H.G.Wells. The novel was published in 1897 and it's about a scientist who discovered a way to become invisible. However, he has trouble reversing the process. The novel is written in third-person point of view unlike his previous works e.g. The Island of Doctor Moreau and The Time Machine (both has been adapted) which were written in the first-person narrative.

Lake Success's adaptation in the works by Jake Gyllenhaal

Mr. Gary Shteyngart's novel will be made into a limited series by HBO. The story is about a hedge fund manger Barry Cohen who fled from his past and his job to go on a cross-country ride to search for his college girlfriend in order to redeem his romance with her. All the while his wife dealt with raising their autistic son and in the process has an affair.

The author is a bestselling author who wrote the memoir Little Failure. That book made it to the National Book Critics Circle Award finalist. His other novels, Super Sad True Love Story and The Russian Debutante's Handbook, won numerous awards as well. Lake Success has made it on several lists for the top books to read in 2018.

Oscar-nominated actor Mr. Jake Gyllenhall will star as the lead character Barry Cohen. He, along with Riva Marker, will executive produce the TV project as well. The author himself and Mr. Tom Spezialy will write the screenplay.

John Boyega and Olivia Cooke are casts in Naked Singularity

Mr. John Boyega ( Star Wars episode 7-9) and Olivia Cooke(Ready Player One) are in Mr. Chase Palmer debut's film titled Naked Singularity. Mr. David Matthews will write the screenplay. The novel was written by Mr. Sergio De La Pava. It was the writer's debut novel as well. He first self-published the book in 2008 before it was republished in 2012. It later won the PEN Prize in 2013.

this story is about a young public defender from New York City who saw signs of the universe collapsing after a mental breakdown. After his suspension, he chose to steal millions of dollar from a client of his.

The executive producer of this film are Dick Wolf, Deborah Roth, Anton, and Ridley Scott. Producing this project are Mr. Kevin Walsh from Scott Free, Jen Dana from 3311 Productions, and finally Ryan Stowell and Tony Ganz from Wolf Films.

Nice to hear a self-publishing story is being adapted into a film. No doubt this film will be excellent. I can't wait to hear more news in the near future.
