Here is a joint statement by co-creators Roland and JD Dillard:
“We’re incredibly excited to be bringing this iconic property to Apple TV+. Since we became friends nearly ten years ago, we’ve looked for something to team up on, so this collaboration marks a dream come true. Neuromancer has inspired so much of the science fiction that’s come after it and we’re looking forward to bringing television audiences into Gibson’s definitive ‘cyberpunk’ world.”

"Neuromancer" was Gibson's first novel that is credited with establishing the cyberpunk genre. The 1984 book won a Hugo Award, a Nebula Award, and the Philip K. Dick Award. This adaptation of Gibson's work is the latest to make its way to the screen. Amazon recently premiered a series based on Gibson's novel "The Peripheral," starring Chloë Grace Moretz. Gibson has also dabbled in Hollywood, contributing to projects like the screenplay for the film "Johnny Mnemonic," which was based on his own short story of the same name.
