I truly believe there are great original stories out there in the indie publishing arena. It'll take just one producer/studio to make a bold move and if he/she does so I know (with all my being) that the movie (and the book) would become a success or perhaps a phenomenon. I don't believe every best-selling novel would translate into a block-buster movie. What makes a block-buster movie is how original the story is and whether a certain demographic would be interested in its originality. Most of the books that hollywood had adapted into movies were clones of either Twilight, Hunger Games, or Harry Potter. To truly find the next big thing, you have to look into the indie-publishing world. Dig into stories that are great but the masses haven't gotten a chance to notice its greatness yet. Someday I believe such a situation would come by. Someone out there would find an indie book and turned that book into a movie. But for now I'll just be happy to see any book-based film become number one at the box office. Hopefully "The Giver"would be number one as well. "The Hundred Foot Journey" should also be number one.
Take care and I hope you all are enjoying summer so far. Keep visting my blog, tell someone about it as well. I'm blessed to have such fantastic fans!!! Have fun but not too much fun. Don't forget to read a book as well( preferrably my novels of course:):):) but yeah you can read other books i guess) Bye for now!
P.S. Here's the second trailer of "The Giver", I hope you enjoy it. It's in black and white folks, so they're sticking to the source material which is great.
