A twitter pal of mine, J.D. Barker( twitter.com/jdbarker), just send me an email about his story (co-author with Dace Stoker) being made into a feature film. You can read the press release below:
Paramount Pictures has acquired screen rights to Dracul, the first prequel authorized by the estate of Bram Stoker. The film will be developed as potential directing vehicle down the line for Andy Muschietti, teamed with It producers Barbara Muschietti and Roy Lee.
Written by Dacre Stoker and J.D. Barker, the tale is set in 1868, where a 21-year old Bram Stoker meets with an ungodly evil, which he traps in an ancient tower all the while scribbling the events that led him there. The monster origin tale just went to Putnam’s Mark Tavani in a 5-house auction brokered by Kristin Nelson of Nelson Literary Agency. The UK rights for Dracul were bought by Simon Taylor of Transworld and to Michel Lafon France in a pre-empt.
The film deal was brokered by Angela Cheng Caplan of Cheng Caplan Company Inc. and attorney Wayne Alexander. Paramount executive, Vanessa Joyce brought in the project and will oversee the development with Miri Yoon of Vertigo Entertainment.
"I can't imagine a better team to tell this story."
- J.D. Barker
All I can say is I hope things goes well and the adaptation would be a great success. I can't wait to hear more news about Draul. All the best to everyone involve with the project
The trailer for "The Giver" is finally here!!! It's been a long time coming. I'm just so happy that this book is being turned into a movie. I hope that it really does well in theaters. This book is such a YA classic. It's the book that spawned other YA Dystopian novels such as The City of Ember, The Hunger Games Trilogy, and DIvergent series. Without "The Giver" such book wouldn't have exist. This book truly is amazing in every sense of the word. I can't wait for August 15, 2014!!! I hope you all would check it out in theater as well. For that haven't read the book then you're in for a treat when you see it in the big screen. The gripping tale of Jonas would make you want to read the book. As always thanks for visiting my blog, and i do hope you check it out to see other latest news.
P.S. The other Youtube video is a book reviewer who is also interested in reading "The Giver" ( fastforward to 2:06 on youtube clip), and she spoke about how her college friend read "The Giver" and it changed her life (That's how GREAT this book is and i totally agree with her college friend). Also she mentioned my book "House Trap" which she found interested and read the book's blurb to her fans (fastforward to 4:12 on youtube clip). Hopefully, in the near future, i'd post a trailer to my book House Trap for you all to see:) so take care and enjoy THE GIVER trailer once again( I certainly did, i watched it like ten times and never grew tried of it.)
I just want to wish the viewers of my blog, especially my fans, a Happy Thanksgiving. I hope everyone is having a blast and eating till their heart desire. Don't forget to be thankful and count your blessings however little or large they are because each and everyone of us has something to be grateful for. Stay blessed and I hope you keep coming to my blog and telling others about it. Take Care:)
As i stated in my previous post I said that I would mention the next novel I'm writing about and so this is the debut of the title. But before i get to the name i just want to say that I'm glad that J.K. Rowling wrote another adult novel (If you guys read my review of The Casual Vacancy, i hope that she would write another adult novel. After the review weren't so favorable by critics i assume that she might've gone back to writing for children.). The Cuckoo's Calling rose in ranks as soon as everyone knew she wrote it. I'm currently reading it along with other novels. So far I like it. It's good that she didn't write multi-characters this time around and there's a mystery swarming around each chapter. She stated that there would be a sequel to this book as well(which i'm glad to hear because it looks like it would be a great series, perhaps this might be seven books as well:). I can't wait to write my review on this book because reading it so far this young celebrity she's writing about reminds me of a certain celebrity , even the way this character died looks similar to this real-life celebrity. I can't wait to discuss this on my review on Goodreads but for now i will keep it a secret.
Summer is soon coming to a close. It came just as quickly as it's about to leave. I hope you all enjoyed watching those summer movies and I hope you check out those movies that were based on books. And then read the books as well:) If you miss these book-based movies then don't forget to purchase them on they come out on DVD because they're usually really good to keep anyways. You can also compare the books to the movies as well. I know the Fall movies(book related) are looking really fantastic!! i mean have you seen the second trailer to The Hunger Games: Catching Fire? That looks really good (even though i wasn't too impress with the book-version. You can read my review of it on Goodreads.) I still want to watch the movie and see what changes they made in the movie from the book.
Okay here is the moment that i've been waiting for....The next new book i'm working on. The next YA thriller/suspense novel that would please your reading mind. The YA book that i'm currently writing....the title is called.....DRUM ROLL!!!....................
I'm so excited to release this title for the world to see. I'm telling you this book would knock your socks off. If you think House Trap, Fiery Trap, or Stained were something then you haven't seen nothing yet. This book is an excellent YA thriller/suspense novel that's different from your other YA novel. This one would keep you guessing till the jaw-dropping end. So I hope you keep checking this blog for more informtion of Chockstone Cabin. I hope you tell others about my blog and my novels because i'll greatly appreciate this from each and everyone of you. Thanks to my fans as always. Keep reading and have a blessed week:)
Comic con 2013 has arrived and everyone is presenting their respectful film. Here are the movies based on books that would be presented this year: Divergent, Ender's Game, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatball 2, Kick-Ass 2(although this really is a graphic novel), Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, Seventh Son, I, Frankenstein (again, really more of a graphic novel than a book) and last but definitely not least The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Great to see these book being made into movies and I hope more book would be present in next year's comic con. Alot of interesting clips were shown this year and as always can't wait to see these movies.
I've already finished Divergent and hopefully i would read the second book soon ( I'm currently reading another book). I just want to congratulate the author, Veronica Roth and I really hope this movie become a big success. It must really be surreal for her to be at comic con presenting a movie that she created. I too hope and pray that this would be in the near future for me as well:) It's really an accomplishment for her book to be love by the masses and even more so to be made into a feature movie. I recently saw the clip of the cast of Divergent along with the director and Ms. Veronica Roth. it's really great stuff, i hope you enjoy watching it.
Don't forget to mark it on your calander (if you already have a 2014 one available) because the movie would be out March 21, 2014, and it would probably be awesome to check it out on IMAX. Every movie looks awesome in IMAX:) Enjoy the clip!!
P.S. I have a special announcement regarding to what i've been currently writing. I've been trying to fit in another book on my hectic life this year. Hopefully you would be as excited as i am about it. This new novel i'm writing is really something:) I'd just say that if you thought HOUSE TRAP and the sequel FIERY TRAP was intensely scary, then you haven't seen nothing yet. This story would give you the ULIMATE( a little hint on the blurb) chill. So I hope you're having a happy read with your other books. Check out my books as well (tell others if they don't know about it as well) and I hope you come back here to know more about this new novel i'm writing. PEACE OUT:)
Let the Confetti fall!!!!!! because, not only it's the new year (yes i'm still celebrating the new year and i will continue till the end of January), but, and this is a big BUT, get ready for this............ Fiery Trap is finally here for your reading pleasure:) If you want to start reading it now it's available at smashwords.com. You can go to smashwords and get your copy now. As for amazon, it would be available in a couple of hours. I hope you all are having a great new year so far. I hope changes are coming to you as well (Good changes of course). I'm just excited to release Fiery Trap to the world. Sequels are alway tricky to write. You have to match the original yet bring something new to the table. I feel i've done that with Fiery Trap. I believe my fans will be thrilled and be surprised by the end of the story. This is a YA thriller/Suspense book that would have you talking and hopefully telling others about it:). I don't want to spoil anything for you but if you want to read the excerpt please click on Fiery Trap tab above. But first it would be wise to read the first book because the second book starts where the first ended. Thanks for visiting my blog and hope to see you again. 2013 is looking good so far:)
Hey you guys, I just want to wish you all a Happy New Year. 2012 is gone and we all made it to 2013. Hopefully we've all learned both from ourselves and others to bring growth or awareness to ourselves this new year. May your goals and wishes be fulfilled and if you've already accomplished what you want in 2012 it doesn't hurt to have another goal or perhaps aid someone in accomplishing theirs for 2013. So stay safe, be gracious, and be thankful for both the little and big things. May 2013 be your year, and my year as well. Ciao and i hope to see you soon on my blog:)
I just want to say Merry Christmas to all my readers around the world and I hope you're having a wonderful season. Take care of yourself and I hope everything goes well. Thank you for visiting my blog as always and thank you for sharing my blog and my novels with other people. It truly means alot to me:) May peace and love always be with you all. Until next time:)
