Synopsis
Today is Day 1 of Chris’s new life.
It’s a year to the day that his wife told him she’d fallen out of love with him and kicked him out of their house after 25 years of marriage.
Though shellshocked for the past few months, he’s feeling stronger and ready to start dating. But do people even ‘date’ at his age? Is this online dating thing really just for youngsters?
Chris genuinely wants to find a ‘special friend’, someone who he can share his life with, and he knows she’s out there somewhere. But he didn’t think finding her would be so tricky.
Swipe left or right … exclusive … block … connect – all these words have a brand new meaning now. And since it’s been about 30 years since his last date, he’s slightly nervous to say the least.
Follow his funny, emotional, frustrating and colourful adventure through the online dating scene while he tries to understand its etiquette and expectations, keep his business clients happy, and secure a permanent roof over his head (where the neighbours keep themselves to themselves).
Read as he tries to keep his grown-up kids happy and onside and his poor mum safe and cared for.
Will he ever find his 'special friend'?
Will the no-shows, eccentric and 'no-nonsense' women he meets (some who look surprisingly different to their profile pictures) be worth it in the end?
Or will he give up on his increasingly complicated search?
