The competition series gained up 4.6 million views in its opening week, making it one of Netflix’s biggest unscripted launches in recent years.
That puts Wonka’s The Golden Ticket on par with the latest season of Love Is Blind. Season 10, also opened with 4.6 million views. The dating series is regarded as one of Netflix’s biggest unscripted franchises, although its premiere predates the streamer’s current methodology for calculating viewership.
A two-part finale of Wonka’s The Golden Ticket is set to premiere September 30.
The series was topped only by Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story, which held the No. 1 spot with 14.5 million views in its second week. The series previously debuted with 12.5 million views in its first four days on the service. Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story also expanded its international reach, appearing in the Top 10 in 92 countries, up from 89 in its opening week. A Different World, the sequel series to the classic 1987 sitcom, debuted at No. 4 with 4.2 million views.
