Here is the book synopsis of "Carrie" by Stephen King:
Shunned by her classmates and tormented at home by her mother's (Samantha Sloyan) religious fanaticism, Carrie White ( Summer H. Howell) has spent her life as an outsider. But beneath her shy exterior lies a secret she has guarded since childhood: the power to move objects with her mind. Doors slam shut. Candles topple. Her telekinetic gift has been both a source of strength and a burden.
When an unexpected act of kindness offers Carrie a glimpse of a normal life, she dares to believe that the cruelty she has endured might finally be behind her. Instead, a vicious prank shatters that hope, unleashing her extraordinary powers in a devastating eruption of terror that will leave an entire town forever changed.
