L. Frank Baum’s classic The Wizard of Oz is being reimaged into a horror flick titled "Wicked of OZ' . Aaron Mirtes is directing the feature film while Nathan Illsley is co-writing the screenplay. James Cullen Bressack and Scotty Mullen adapted the original screenplay. The film is produced by Tom Malloy and Niccolo Messina, CEO of indie studio Insurgence. Currently in post-production, Wicked of Oz is targeting a November release, though distribution details have yet to be announced.
The cast includes Chelsey Fuller as Glinda, Patrick Sharn as The Wizard, Destinee Monét as Toto, Zach Lazar Hoffman as the Cowardly Lion, Brad Belemjian as the Scarecrow, and Carson Butcher as the Tin Man.
Dorothy Gale is taken into a nightmarish version of Oz—where danger lurks at every turn and a gruesome fate awaits.
