Above this post is the newly-released photos of Paramount+ UK original series titled "Girl Taken". The TV series is based on Hollie Overton's novel titled "Baby Doll". Alfie Allen and Jill Halfpenny lead the cast, with real-life sisters Tallulah Evans and Delphi Evans portraying Lily and Abby. The supporting cast includes Vikash Bhai, Niamh Walsh, Levi Brown, Victoria Ekanoye, Holly Atkins, and Kiran Krishnakumar.
(Exclusively on Novelpro Junkie) Hollie Overton shares her official statement on the television adaptation of her novel:
When Clapperboard first contacted me to see if I wanted to option Baby Doll, I was excited but cautious. I've worked in Hollywood as a screenwriter for over a decade, I know how long the development process can take. Imagine my surprise when eight months later, I was on set in Spain, watching them film Baby Doll. It's been a dream come true seeing my characters and this world come to life. It was especially gratifying because everyone involved took such care to honor the spirit of the book. I cannot wait for everyone to see it, and hopefully for new readers to discover my books!
The six-part psychological thriller will premiere globally on Paramount+ on January 8, 2026.
Here is the book synopsis of "Baby Doll (TV Series titled Girl Taken)" by Hollie Overton:
Perfect for fans of Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train, Baby Doll delivers one of the most gripping and intense thrillers you’ll read this year.
After eight years of captivity, Lily has transformed from a teenager into an adult within the confines of a small basement prison. Her daughter, Sky, has never known life beyond those walls. But everything changes the day their captor forgets to lock the deadbolt.
What follows is the unraveling of four lives—Lily’s, her twin sister’s, her mother’s, her daughter’s…and the man who held them captive.
