The Third Parent, inspired by the viral “creepypasta” series by writer Elias Witherow, unfolds during a Fourth of July celebration. A sinister figure named Tommy Taffy appears, posing as a human to infiltrate a suburban neighborhood and impose an authoritarian rule on an unsuspecting family. This film also marks the feature directorial debut of producer David Michaels, who will both write and direct the project. The film stars Rob Lowe, Crispin Glover, and Roselyn Sanchez.
Here is a statement from Andrew Karpen and Kent Sanderson( Bleecker Street) about the project:
“Crispin Glover’s Tommy Taffy will be the next great horror villain. With Gary’s incredible track record as a producer and David’s strong vision, anchored by Rob Lowe and Roselyn Sanchez’s compelling performances, we believe this will be a singular and terrifying theatrical experience.”
Here is a statement from Gary Michael Walters (Walters Media Group) about the project:
"I am so thrilled to be part of Bleecker Street’s continued expansion into the horror space. Andrew and Kent’s support for this project has been phenomenal.”
Here is the goodreads synopsis of The Third Parent by Elias Witherow:
No one knows where he came from. No one knows what he wants. No one dares ask about his strange physical abnormalities. For a quiet suburban neighborhood, things are about to change. And it starts with a knock at the door. Follow his rules. Don't call the police. Listen to his lessons. That's what Jack and his family were told. Held captive in their own house, they must face a growing storm of mental and physical trauma as they try to just stay alive. But even if Jack can survive the horror of his childhood, will his tormentor ever leave him alone? And who is he really? Who is Tommy Taffy?
