Amazon MGM Studios is bringing the first installment of Mercedes Ron’s Bali series to the screen.
Titled 30 Sunsets para enamorarte (“Thirty Sunsets to Fall in Love”), the story follows Nikki, a Bali-based veterinarian who teaches yoga on the side. When pilot Alex arrives on the island to escape London’s relentless pace, sparks fly between them. But with just 30 days together, their whirlwind romance is tested—especially as both harbor secrets that could keep them from committing.
Ron has become a key creative partner for Prime Video, which has adapted 10 of her novels to date—seven in Spanish and three in English from the U.K. These include the Culpables trilogy (My Fault, Your Fault and Our Fault: London) and the Enfrentados duology.
Her books have sold millions of copies worldwide and been translated into 26 languages across 50 countries.
