Here is another interview with Andy Weir on The Today's Show: http://on.today.com/1QSahqE
The end-week of October was yet again taken by two book-based movies: The Martian followed by Goosebumps!! It has been terrific to watch both movie perform so wonderfully. I, as a writer myself, is especially pleased to see The Martian do so well since the movie was based on a self-published novel. It's great to see Mr. Andy Weir experience his creation on the big screen (hopefully, soon, I too would get to have a similar experience). He did such a fantastic job as a storyteller and the results showed that. Goosebumps has been a long time coming and I'm so pleased to see that it wasn't a flop. Those that read the books clearly came to support both movie. Readers and fans alike showed their support and help these movies become a great success. I hope both authors would have ongoing success both in their writing (or other projects) endeavors. Hopefully their success would give way for other upcoming (self-published perhaps) authors to shine as well.
I'm still working on the rough draft of my YA suspense/thriller story. This one is quite challenging because it's deals with the plot that switch from the present and goes back in time. There are also two main characters so it's quite difficult to balance the two story without making one seems better than the other. I wish i could reveal more as it's at its infancy stage. It's too early to say anything else(by telling you guys that there are two main characters feels like i'm saying too much already.) I hope you continue to check out the news on my progress because I would reveal things here or there about it. Perhaps a scene or a character name (definitely not the main characters of course since i haven't even given the title of the story yet.). I hope to finish the story by next year time(finger cross).
So that's it for now. I'm just feel blessed to be writing and I know that someday it would become my full-time job. Hopefully really, really soon (with the help of great folks like you guys still reading/ being interested my stories. I love to read your comment on my stories as well.) Take care and thanks for stopping by here to read this. Peace:)
Update: The Martian has reached the $200 million mark.It has become Ridley Scott's highest grossing film of all-time, beating his 2000's movie Gladiator.
