A twitter pal of mine, J.D. Barker( twitter.com/jdbarker), just send me an email about his story (co-author with Dace Stoker) being made into a feature film. You can read the press release   below:

Paramount Pictures has acquired screen rights to Dracul, the first prequel authorized by the estate of Bram Stoker. The film will be developed as potential directing vehicle down the line for Andy Muschietti, teamed with It producers Barbara Muschietti and Roy Lee.

Written by Dacre Stoker and J.D. Barker, the tale is set in 1868, where a 21-year old Bram Stoker meets with an ungodly evil, which he traps in an ancient tower all the while scribbling the events that led him there. The monster origin tale just went to Putnam’s Mark Tavani in a 5-house auction brokered by Kristin Nelson of Nelson Literary Agency. The UK rights for Dracul were bought by Simon Taylor of Transworld and to Michel Lafon France in a pre-empt.

The film deal was brokered by Angela Cheng Caplan of Cheng Caplan Company Inc. and attorney Wayne Alexander. Paramount executive, Vanessa Joyce brought in the project and will oversee the development with Miri Yoon of Vertigo Entertainment.

"I can't imagine a better team to tell this story."

- J.D. Barker

All I can say is I hope things goes well and the adaptation would be a great success. I can't wait to hear more news about Draul. All the best to everyone involve with the project

As i stated in my previous post I said that I would mention the next novel I'm writing about and so this is the debut of the title. But before i get to the name i just want to say that  I'm glad that J.K. Rowling wrote another adult novel (If you guys read my review of The Casual Vacancy, i hope that she would write another adult novel. After the review weren't so favorable by critics i assume that she might've gone back to writing for children.). The Cuckoo's Calling rose in ranks as soon as everyone knew she wrote it. I'm currently reading it along with other novels. So far I like it. It's good that she didn't write multi-characters this time around and there's a mystery swarming around each chapter.  She stated that there would be a sequel to this book as well(which i'm glad to hear  because it looks like it would be a great series, perhaps this might be seven books as well:). I can't wait to write my review on this book  because reading it so far this young celebrity  she's writing about reminds me of a certain celebrity , even the way this character died looks similar to this real-life celebrity. I can't wait to discuss this on my review on Goodreads but for now i will keep it a secret.

Summer is soon coming to a close. It came just as quickly as it's about to leave. I hope you all enjoyed watching those summer movies and I hope you check out those movies that were based on books. And then read the books as well:)   If you miss these book-based movies then don't forget to purchase them on they come out on DVD because they're usually really good to keep anyways. You can also compare the books to the movies as well.   I know the Fall movies(book related) are looking really fantastic!! i mean have you seen the second trailer to The Hunger Games: Catching Fire? That looks really good (even though i wasn't too impress with the book-version. You can read my review of it on Goodreads.) I still want to watch the movie and see what changes they made in the movie from the book.

Okay here is the moment that i've been waiting for....The next new book i'm working on. The next YA thriller/suspense novel that would please your reading mind. The YA book that i'm currently writing....the title is called.....DRUM ROLL!!!....................

                                                                               CHOCKSTONE CABIN

I'm so excited to release this title for the world to see. I'm telling you this book would knock your socks off. If you think House Trap, Fiery Trap, or Stained were something then you haven't seen nothing yet. This book is an excellent YA thriller/suspense novel that's different from your other YA novel.  This one would keep you guessing till the jaw-dropping end.  So I hope you keep checking this blog for more informtion of Chockstone Cabin. I hope you tell others about my blog and my novels because i'll greatly appreciate this from each and everyone of you. Thanks to my fans as always. Keep reading and have a blessed week:)

Book Cover of House Trap Sequel and Title is finally revealed:)

2/5/2012

Hi guys  well the wait is finally over:) and i'm thrilled to reveal to you all both the title of the house Trap sequel and the book cover. I already stated from my early posting detail about the sequel and how it differ from the first one.( click this link if you haven't read it yet: http://novelpro.weebly.com/4/post/2012/01/progress-of-the-sequel-to-house-trap.html) I don't have the exact date yet of the release date but it would most likely be early this year. I hope those that read House Trap and enjoyed it are sharing the stories with other people that might like such a thrilling tale. And those that have read the first one, please reread it before you jump into the sequel.  From my twitter account, at the image section, i had my dream cast of House Trap, if it was made into a movie. I hope you checked it out and email me what you think of those cast or maybe tell me your suggestion to who you think would play rachel, Kristen, Scott, Alicia etc. It was fun showcasting my thoughts on who should play who. My dream would be for James Wan and Leigh Whannell to be the one to adapt House Trap movie. The novella has blockbuster movie written all over it( just like the short sotry Ghost Walker by Lan McKenzie Jeffers which was the movie called The Grey starring Liam Neeson). I might be posting a cast for the House Trap Sequel just for fun. I have a couple of actors who would be great for the sequel. Anyways the title of the sequel is....which is long overdue might i add is...Fiery Trap. And for the first time ever i will post a theme song for a novel of mine. The song that fits the theme of Fiery Trap is the latest song by Adele called Set the fire to the rain. The song capture the emotion and turmoil that Rachel went through in the novel. The song also hint an event that happened in the novel as well. I will post the book cover and the song below. I hope you are as excited as i am about the sequel and i can't wait for you all to read it. It's really is a great sequel. I hope you keep checking my blog for further detail, ciao for now:)

Progress of the sequel to "House Trap"

1/7/2012

Well what a holiday season we had. It's the new year and all the festivities are over. We're in 2012 and so to start it off i wanted my first blog entry of the 2012(beside the entry that celebrated the new year) to be about the sequel of House Trap.  Well it's been quite a challenge so far. It isn't easy writing a sequel, especially one that would just be as good if not better than the original material but i think this one is very good...very good in a different way. I hope that my fans( and future fans of House trap) would look at the sequel as a different entity.

I would explain what i mean by this because the sequel isn't quite like the original but it's very good in its own right. I would explain this by comparison. This way you would have a clear understanding by what i meant of "different entity"

1.  House Trap is a novella.................................The Sequel is a novel, not a novella
2.  House Trap is plot-driven................................The Sequel is character-driven
3.  House Trap is a fast-paced, thriller..........................The Sequel is a steady, psychological thriller that gear toward mystery.
4.  House Trap is more indoor action............................ The Sequel is somewhat more outdoor-ish than the original
5.  House Trap has few characters..................................... The Sequel has more characters than the original

So this is just to give you a taste of how the sequel is like. It isn't the same pacing like the previous book but it's very good and still thrilling. The result is a.........let's just say it's going to be 'smoking'( This is a  clue to what the title of the sequel would be.). So i hope you're as excited as i am about the sequel. I can't wait to release it when it's ready:) Just keep checking for more update and maybe next time i might reveal the title and the book cover of the sequel. Trust me when i tell you that  both the title and the book cover are gripping. It definitely surpasses House Trap's book cover in my opinion.

I hope those that read and loved House Trap would share it with those that would like such story because the sequel will take them to another level and bring readers to get to know the main character more deeper than ever before. So that's all i have to say about the sequel. I hope you're having a great new year and i hope your resolutions are going well so far. Mine is going alright.  I'll try to stay busy working on the sequel, hope you're having a happy reading with my and other authors' novel, and overall thanks for visiting and reading my post as always. Bye for now.

Just days till Scream 4 arrive in theaters

4/11/2011

As you all know scream 4 is coming april 15. I'm really excited about this movie. I still remember the first one was really scary and most of the time was at the edge of my seat, hoping that sidney wouldn't die since drew barrymore(Casey Becker) was killed off at the beginning ( i still remember thinking that she would make it, she would make it and then in shock I thought, oh my goodness she didn't make it). The beginning of scream one is classic. I thought scream 2 was alright. I heard alot of people stated that it was better than scream one. I tend to differ but hey what you like is you like, i can't argue with other people taste of movie. Okay so then came scream 3 which some people didn't like. As for me, i really liked scream 3. It was fun and silly at times. I thought the revelation fitted with the rest of the previous movies. I really liked Posey Parker character in the movie and she was one of the few character i felt really sad for as she died( Casey becker the first one, also Jade Pinkett's character). Speaking of Jade Pinkett, she acted the heck out of that scene, she needed to receive an academy award for that death scene.   Okay back to Scream 3, Posey Parker's character was a comic relief and i personally thought she should've been the only stab 3 actor to survive not just the trio and patrick dempsey. Now i have to admit each of the scream movie i always guess the killer wrong. Well maybe scream 2,( SPOILER ALERT) i knew it was mickey but then doubt filled my mind and i thought he was too obvious of a killer. Anyways, my point is i think i might know who the killer or killers is/are in this latest scream movie. I think the tv spot and trailer kind of hint on who it was. I wouldn't say who because I don't want to spoil the movie for anyone if i'm right ( i hate people who give out who did what or who the killer is.  Example: A classmate of mine spoiled the ending to Sixth Sense for me and i never enjoyed that movie like those who discovered what Bruce willis really was  but i digress).  If i'm right about who the killer(s) is or are, i will tell you in my later post. I promise i wouldn't lie, i can admit when i'm wrong. After i watched the movie i will tell you who i thought the killer was( I will make sure to put spoiler alert for those who don't want to know).   And one thing about scream is that it influnce a bit in writing my suspense scene in   House Trap. It has the same chill and thrills but it isn't like a rated R movie but more suitable for YA readers. I just wanted to inform those that love the Scream franchise would really like House Trap. Hope you'll check my ebook out when it comes out which i haven't decided the release date yet. keep checking my blog and you'll see the release date. ( you could read a sample at "STORY ZONE") Okay i think i rambled too much so i'll just say that i'm excited about this movie, i hope it doesn't stink and i hope Sidney doesn't get kill or Gale Weathers. Dewey????, well.. ....Maybe (Just kidding, i like his character as well).Okay that's it, Ciao.

P.S. Here's a short clip of the movie.
